Stillness in the Heart of the World

The circumstances of our lives can change quickly. Turning our hearts to the present moment can reveal the solid ground beneath our feet. Each moment is a precious jewel, strung one after another, revealing the stillness in the midst of continuous change.

We invite you to join Wandering Mountain for our summer meditation retreat at beautiful Camp Indianola on the Kitsap Peninsula. During this silent retreat, we practice bringing our bodies and minds together in awareness throughout our activities. Cradled by our community and the beauty of the place, we open our hearts to this glorious and troubled world. We are grateful that our retreat will be led by Greg Grallo, Dharmacharya in the Plum Village Tradition.

Greg Grallo received Lamp Transmission in 2018 in Plum Village with his spouse and two children serving as his attendants. He lives in Missoula, MT and has practiced with Open Way Sangha since 1999. Greg has served as a chaplain with hospice and currently with Providence St. Patrick Hospital since 2009, having completed Upaya Zen Center’s Chaplaincy Training Program. He also serves families and organizations in conflict resolution with Foundational Dialogues, LLC.

Practice accommodations: For those whose physical needs make attending the full schedule too challenging, we offer the possibility of a reduced schedule. This may involve a later start in the morning and/or an earlier end to the evening’s practice.

Lodging and food: We are staying in Camp Indianola’s Driftwood Lodge with separate dorm rooms for women and men. All meals are provided. Meals are vegetarian and include gluten-free options.

Retreat fee: We offer two tiers. Select the option most appropriate for your personal situation. If paying by PayPal, we include their fee in the regular retreat cost.   

  • Regular fee: $550 by check ($560 by PayPal)
  • Generosity tier: $700 (check or PayPal)

To register, follow these steps:

  • Fill out the registration form.
  • Send the retreat fee via PayPal (Mountain Lamp Community as the payee and include a note that payment is for the summer 2026 retreat) or mail a check made out to Mountain Lamp Community to:

Your registration is not complete until you are contacted by the retreat registrar. Space is limited. Registration closes on Friday August 21th or until capacity is reached.

Cancellation policy: Cancellations received by August 14th will be granted a full refund. After August 14th, there are no refunds.
